Feldspar, the mare, and Ohanzee, the colt, did a bit of cuddling. The affection between the horses is just awesome to see. They are part of the famous Cloud band. Cloud is a 19 year old stallion who was made famous in three documentaries "Cloud: Wild Stallions of the Rockies," "Cloud's Legacy: The Wild Stallion Returns," and the latest film "Cloud: Challenge of the Stallions" by Ginger Kathrens. He has a foundation named for him, The Cloud Foundation and in 2011, Congress declared him the face of wild horses of the American West. He is a pale palomino, while Feldspare is a and Ohanzee are each grulla.
The Pryor Mustangs reside on Pryor Mountains in Wyoming and Montana. The herd of about 170 horses consists of several bands of stallions with mare(s) and offspring, bachelor bands. The herd has probably lived on the mountains since at least the late 1600s. The Pryor herd is verified by DNA analysis to be descended from Colonial Spanish Horses. The herd also has a higher than normal genetic diversity and low inbreeding. They are managed by the Bureau of Land Management. Every four years there is a count. Round-ups do occur, probably about every 4 years, and some horses are adopted. At that time, some mares are also given contraceptives.

Nature, animals, beauty have been a source of nourishment throughout my life.
