Description
This was taken on Sauvie Island near the beginning of the Oak Island Trail. The cows and their calves were loose and were peaceably grazing on this rainy fall day. I thought this calf was so cute. He has stopped munching for a while to stare at me, and a bit of grass hangs out of his mouth.
I often wonder how animals feel when they're drenched. I'm always so uncomfortable, but they don't really seem to be that bothered by it. In another area, nearby, we saw different types of cows, and they were all gathered under an oak grove.

Nature, animals, beauty have been a source of nourishment throughout my life. Photography allows me to capture, interpret, and share that world of wonder I see about me, and sometimes use what I capture as an inspiration to create something new, by incorporating other exposures, textures or brushwork.
I currently reside in Oregon, an environment rich in nature's graces. I have lived in California and New York, too, and everywhere there is a world of beauty around us, if we care to take the time and look for it.
