Description
Running Fawn, No. 1
I was actually looking for a sign of Grizzly Bear 399 back on a gravel road that led to Spalding Bay on Jackson Lake, when suddenly a deer family came running from the forest past me, including twin fawns. They looked like they had been spooked by something! Unfortunately, my camera had settings for a landscape shot I had just taken, so it was definitely one of those instances where I wasn't prepared. They did stop, and pause, so once I was able to stop the car and get out to point my camera behind me, I was able to get one decent picture of the two fawns. However, I still loved a couple shots of one of the fawns as it ran, so I blended in a painterly layer and enhanced the image.

Nature, animals, beauty have been a source of nourishment throughout my life. Photography allows me to capture, interpret, and share that world of wonder I see about me, and sometimes use what I capture as an inspiration to create something new by incorporating other exposures, textures or brushwork.
